CurlyNikki’s Blog

Many of you may know Nikki from naturallycurly and nappturality.  Nikki has been a frequent contributor to those sites and several women have asked her to start a blog of her own, which she did in October, 2008.  It’s already got a lot of great hair tips and stories of women on a natural hair journey.

Nikki’s been on the forums since 2005 and has generated quite a following.  Her blog is well written and very informative.  She gives some straight product reviews, lists products she is using now and even occasionally gives away some free stuff.  This is a blog you definitely should take a peek at.

You can find Nikki at:  http://www.curlynikki.com/

Naturally You Magazine- Exclusively for Natural Black Hair

Posted: April 26th, 2006By: Treasured Locks

We want to introduce you to Naturally You! Magazine. Many of our clients have natural hair or are interested in natural hair. Most black hair care magazines are full of models with perms and extensions and tell you nothing about how to take care of natural black hair. Naturally You! is different.

Naturally You! Magazine’s mission is to empower Black women around the world by providing reliable and current information on natural hair care, beauty, and holistic health and wellness. Naturally You! Magazine’s staff is committed to inspiring women to take a total body and mind approach to embracing their true selves, leading to improved self-awareness and self-esteem. Naturally You! is committed to inspiring women to take a total body and mind approach to embracing our true selves, leading to improved self-awareness and self-esteem.

Naturally You! Magazine was founded by Kaya Casper in 2003, in response to a lack of information in print magazines for women who choose to wear their hair 100% naturally. Naturally You! is the first magazine to focus on natural hair care, without the use of chemicals or added hair. Kaya and her sister, Toya, have developed a popular, internationally distributed magazine that is as uplifting as it is informative.

New Look

Naturally You! Magazine, the natural haircare and lifestyle magazine, has released its Spring 2006 issue with an updated design and new features. This marks the 10th issue.

“It was time for a change,” says publisher Kaya Casper. “Some of the changes are subtle, but I’m happy with the finished product. A lot of the new additions are in response to reader feedback.” New features include hair product reviews, hair accessories, makeovers, more step-by-step instructions (we get requests for these all of the time!), more natural hair photos, and a pull out subscription card that is not only convenient but makes room for an additional page of content. Modifications have been made to the design and layout of the magazine to create a more cohesive reader experience, and pack more content into each page.

“Each issue just keeps getting better and better,” says reader Jennifer Jackson. Naturally You! Magazine staff intends to keep it that way, and is already hard at work on the Summer issue. Single copies of Naturally You! Magazine and subscriptions are available at NaturallyYouMagazine.com.
